Recently, the China Highway and Transportation Society released the 2025 list of “Beautiful Road Projects”. A total of 151 projects have been selected, among which 57 are rural road projects. The Dianhu Lake ring road in Kunshan City made the list.
Located on the north side of Dianshan Lake in Kunshan’s Dianshanhu Town, the Dianhu Lake ring road has a total length of 14.6 kilometers, mainly consisting of Lakeview Avenue, Shuguang Road and Yinghu Road. It is part of the “Kunyun Avenue” water town tourism road, connecting traditional Jiangnan villages such as Yongxin Village, Ducheng Village and Jinjiazhuang Village in Dianshanhu Town, which helps promote the deep integration of agriculture, culture and tourism.
In recent years, local authorities have made great efforts to accelerate the upgrading of leisure agriculture and rural tourism, building the Dianhu Lake ring road into a model project for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. With yacht clubs, camping sites and other leisure facilities, the road area has become a popular destination for leisure and vacation for local residents. The large-scale cultural and sports events such as the Dianshan Lake Sun Chasing Half Marathon have also helped increase the popularity of the road which received over one million tourists in 2024.
